Hey everyone, it's time for a Tuesday tip. There are so many demands on our time and our budget that it can be really hard to make decisions about what to do. So today I have a framework for you. It's the NICE Framework.

The N stands for need.

  • How do we know we need this thing?
  • What is our data telling us?
  • What are our students not doing that we want them to be doing?

Cause you know, there's a difference between need and want.

The I stands for impact.

  • What is the impact we are hoping to make?
  • What results do we want to see?
  • What will our data look like if we do this thing?

C is for confident.

  • How confident are we that this is actually going to do what we want it to do?
  • Is there research to support it?
  • Have other people used it?
  • Have people in our own school using it?

And the E stands for ease

  • How easy is it going to be to get the results we want?

Something might be great, but if it requires us to totally transform our school in order to make it happen, well, that might not be the best option for us.

So when you're making decisions, make them nice and everything will be so much better.
